RAOUL WALSH 1887-1980

‘’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’’(AMPAS) kurucu üyesi,Amerikalı yönetmen.Griffith’in asistanı idi.İlk filmi 1914’de çekilen ‘’The Life of General Villa’’ oldu.1915 ‘’Regeneration’’ belki de ilk gangster filmi idi.1930 da çekilen ‘’The Big Trail ‘’ filmi ile tanındı. (100’ lerceWagon arabası) kullanılan Western’de ilk defa  John Wayne’i oynattı. 1940’de John Wayne ile’’Dark Command’’  ,1941’da Humphrey Bogart’la ‘’High Sierra’’yı  çekti. Son filmi 1964’de yaptığı ‘’A distant Trumpet’’ oldu.

Paramount Pictures’de 1935-1939 güzel filmler yaptı,Fakat kariyerinin doruk noktasına ‘’Warner Brothers’’ da çalışırken ulaştı.James Cagney,Humphray Bogart,John Wayne,Roy Rogers,Errol Flynn,Olivia De Havilland,Marlene Dietrich,Clark Gable  gibi Sinema starları  ile 139 film yaptı.Hollywood Bulvarında Yıldızı vardır.

(film Noir) türündeki eser,Gangster Roy,uzun bir hapishane döneminden sonra şartlı salıverilir.Oysa bu serbest kalışı, yeni bir soygun planlayan arkadaşı düzenlemiştir….Bu film Bogart’ın kariyerinde bir dönüm noktası oldu. Ida Lupino ve Huphrey Bogart ‘’National Board of Review ‘’ ödülünü kazandılar.
