DAVID BUTLER   1894-1979

Amerikalı aktör,senarist ve yönetmen.Tiyatro çalışanı bir ailenin çocuğu olarak,önceleri piyeslerde oynadı, Griffith’in bazı filmlerinde rol aldı.1927’de Fox şirketi sayresinde’’High School Hero’’ ilk  sessiz komedi filmini çekti. 9 yıl boyunca aynı şirkette 30’a yakın film yönetti. 4 filminde Shirley Temple oynadı.1938 ‘’Kentucky’’Loretta Young oynadı, ve Walter Brennan  yardımcı aktör OSCAR ödülü kazandı.

1940’’If I Had my Way’’ ve 1942 ‘’Road to Morocco’’  filmlerini Bing Crosby ile yaptı. Doris Day’le 6 film çekti. 1950-60 arası ise televizyon dizileri çekti. 1978 yılında Dırectors Guild of America ONURSAL Ödülü verildi. 90 film yönetti.1960 yılında Hollywood Bulvarına yıldızı kondu.
